Yair Netanyahu has opened a public front in the Likud primaries: 'The most important thing is not to vote for him'
Following the public confrontation between his father, the Prime Minister, and a senior Likud member, Yair Netanyahu called not to vote for David Bitan in the Likud primaries, as well as for another woman who, according to his claim, is close to him.
Yair Netanyahu, the Prime Minister's son, chose to open a front today, Monday, against Knesset member David Bitan. This comes against the backdrop of the start of the primaries within the Likud party, and following the confrontations between Bitan and his father in the recent period.
"I support Osnat Zohar for the new woman slot! The most important thing is not to vote for Karen Atias Bublil, because she is connected to Bitan," he wrote. Immediately after, he added: "And of course not for David Bitan himself."
In an interview Bitan gave to 103FM less than a month ago, he sharply attacked Benjamin Netanyahu and his conduct in the Likud:
"The behavior of the ministers and MKs - it really shames us. They are afraid to speak or do anything related to the matter because he appoints the ministers after the elections, and the MKs are afraid of the 'Bibists'. That they will take revenge on them if they say something. The voting is secret, the registered members can vote however they want."
Furthermore, Bitan also attacked Likud Central Committee Chairman Haim Katz: "Haim Katz is going to create a faction within the Likud because of a political combination that he and the Prime Minister made together, and they are harming the Likud." Regarding Netanyahu's demand for reserved spots, he wondered: "We put Netanyahu at number one - if he brings all the votes, why is he bringing the reserved candidates?"

"He says he needs eight reserved spots to make the list better. Of them, between one and two are guaranteed to Gideon Sa'ar, one to Bezalel Smotrich, and he said it explicitly. Regarding Itamar Ben Gvir - it will probably also be a condition for Smotrich to run on his list. One he wants to give to Haim Katz and maybe also to Eti Atiya," he added.
According to him, "They are playing the registered members here, because if out of eight - we know who five are, and they don't lift the list anywhere, where is the innovation here?"
Bitan opposed reserving spots for people from other parties: "We need to take care of the Likud, and then we will take care of the coalition. Where will Smotrich go? Where will Ben Gvir go? Should we also give places in the Likud to the Haredim? If there are elections, you need to take care of your party first, then we will take care of the coalition."
