Yael Bar Zohar Reveals the Personal Toll of Husband Guy Zu-Aretz's Survivor Hosting
As Survivor premieres its new season, Israeli star Yael Bar Zohar reveals that husband Guy Zu-Aretz has spent two and a half years away from home across 14 seasons.

Yael Bar Zohar and Guy Zu-Aretz remain one of Israel's most prominent entertainment power couples. While Zu-Aretz has hosted the hit reality show "Survivor" for nearly two decades, Bar Zohar maintains a flourishing career across theater, television, and social media. As a new season premieres on Reshet 13, Bar Zohar offered her hundreds of thousands of followers a candid look at the personal and familial toll of his prolonged absences abroad.
Taking to Instagram, Bar Zohar reflected nostalgically on past seasons. "Survivor is back on the table... Season one, while Guy was in the Dominican Republic launching contestants like Dan Mano and Naama Kasry, I was in Israel, seven to eight months pregnant with Yehli." She detailed further challenges, recalling, "Season two, moving houses and packing up an entire household all by yourself."
The actress and presenter revealed a staggering statistic highlighting years of familial sacrifice. "Basically, I could write about all 14 seasons—if you do the math, over 14 seasons, Guy has been away from home for a total of two and a half years!" Bar Zohar characteristically added a humorous plug for their joint theatrical show, suggesting fans attend to hear more.
Concluding with deep affection, she expressed pride in her husband's work. "All jokes aside, how wonderful that Survivor has long become an integral part of our lives and our family. Tonight is the premiere of the new season. Proud of you, my love, I know it's going to be a crazy season—good luck, and as we say in our family, hit the road."
