The tournament will be jointly hosted by Spain, Morocco, and Portugal, while Uruguay, Argentina, and Paraguay are also expected to host a few matches, but the identity of the country that will host the final has not yet been determined.
In Morocco, however, confidence is already being expressed regarding the plans. The president of the Moroccan Football Federation, Fouzi Lekjaa, announced on Thursday that the final will be held at the Hassan II Stadium, located near Casablanca. According to him, the Benslimane province is expected to receive the honor of hosting the tournament's main match.
Lekjaa even called on the next government to promote the development of the province as part of the preparations for the event. "Benslimane province will have the honor of hosting the 2030 World Cup final," he said. "Anyone aspiring to be part of the next government has no choice but to develop this province."
Meanwhile, Spain has no intention of giving up. The president of the Spanish Football Federation, Rafael Louzán, stated this week that in his opinion, Spain is the one that should receive the right to host the final. Alongside this, he admitted that the location has not yet been guaranteed to his country. "It is a pity that it was not completely clarified where the final will be held," he said. "Spain, as the world champion in men's and women's football, must host the final."
While both countries present their arguments, FIFA has clarified that no decision has yet been made. This means that the battle to host the final match of the 2030 World Cup remains open, and a decision is expected to be made later.
