A Wolt courier who survived a sexual assault during a delivery speaks out ten months later, urging other victims to report crimes as legal proceedings against the suspect unfold.
Almost ten months after a harrowing assault while working as a courier for Wolt, a woman identified only as A. has decided to speak out. The incident occurred on November 7, 2025, when she delivered an order to a home where a woman asked her to hand it over to her partner, Yaniv Ben Adiva (37). According to the indictment filed against him, after A. twice refused Ben Adiva's request for a hug, he blocked the elevator door from closing, hugged her by force, and committed an indecent act.
Loss of Sense of Security and Impact on Daily Life
Reflecting on the attack, A. describes a profound fracture in her sense of safety and basic trust in people. "Trust, innocence, and security—all the fundamental things I had as a person—were taken from me that day," she says. "I lost faith in people. Today, every stranger I see might be perceived by me as someone who could hurt me. This is a very severe consequence."
The psychological toll extended deeply into her personal life. She notes that the assault strained her relationship with her partner, making her flinch even when a male family member offers an affectionate hug. Furthermore, she stopped working entirely as a courier and has been unable to return to any form of employment due to the lingering trauma.
Turning to the Police and the Decision to Go Public
On the night of the attack, A. went to the police station and filed a complaint. Despite initial fears and feelings of shame, which she later realized were unfounded, she found compassionate support from law enforcement officers during her testimony and confrontation with the suspect. The filing of the indictment reinforced her belief in the justice system.
"I want to reach women who have been hurt and are afraid to enter a police station. None of you should feel guilty because of harassment or sexual assault. It is important to file a complaint and not stay alone."

A. expressed strong criticism toward Wolt, claiming the company turned its back on her by refusing to share details without a police report and declining to offer financial assistance for psychological support.
Wolt responded by stating that the safety of its couriers is a top priority, noting full cooperation with the police while withholding further details due to the ongoing legal proceedings and privacy concerns.
Attorney Shiran Bergman, representing Ben Adiva on behalf of the Public Defender's Office, stated: "My client completely denies the charges against him. Everything we have to say, including evidence the defense intends to submit supporting his version, will be presented exclusively before the court."
