The White Lotus Production Pays Millions for Paris Hotel

In an exclusive report by Globes, business tycoon Alfred Akirov revealed details about the upcoming season of the hit series "The White Lotus", which filmed scenes at his luxury Hotel Lutetia in central Paris. Akirov purchased the hotel in 2010 for 135 million euros (approximately 660 million shekels) and invested a similar amount in renovations before reopening it in 2019.

According to Akirov, the production approached the hotel directly. During filming, the hotel was completely closed to outsiders. While the crew occupied only half of the rooms, they paid for the entire facility, including the restaurants. Based on the hotel's average daily room rate of 1,233 euros, estimates suggest the production paid approximately 28 million shekels for the filming period.

Investment Houses Seek Greater Market Competition

During the annual conference of the Israel Investment Houses Association, CEO Nimrod Sapir called on the government and the Ministry of Finance to remove barriers and foster competition in the financial sector. Sapir highlighted the dramatic growth of the industry, noting that assets managed by the five largest investment houses surged from about 480 million shekels in 2015 to roughly 1.1 trillion shekels today.

"Investment houses are the drivers of competition in the financial sector. Wherever they are allowed to enter, they will enter and increase competition," Sapir stated during the event.
