Clothes in the basement and expired food: a glimpse inside the "disaster zone" of the Netanyahu family | Ben Caspit

Omri Maniv brought this week (another) chilling testimony from the Prime Minister's residence. This is not the first time, nor the 20th time, that such testimonies have been published. I have been following the survivors and refugees of the disaster zone also called the "Prime Minister's residence" since the 90s. Nothing has changed. One of the senior officials in the office told me at the time that for four years he was forced to find an "arrangement" for about a hundred such refugees, who were forced to flee the place by the skin of their teeth.

Every time, it is disgusting anew. Every time, it evokes the same feeling of nausea and the same revulsion. Everyone who has been there knows it. Over the years, I have heard hundreds of testimonies of this kind. I was also the first to listen, with a dropped jaw and wide eyes, to the 48-minute shouting match between Sara Netanyahu and Monique Ben-Melech, the morning after the night when the late Eli Moyal dared to criticize Netanyahu from the bombed Sderot, during Operation Protective Edge.

A common denominator for almost all the survivors: they are supporters and lovers of Netanyahu, usually Mizrahi, usually religious, even Haredi. She chooses them carefully, so that no "Kaplanist" infiltrates there, God forbid. And yet, it is hard to find someone who came out of there unscathed. The testimony that Omri Maniv brought this week is that of Yehiel Ohav-Ami. A good man, a bit naive, struggling to make ends meet.

A veteran Likudnik, Mizrahi, 61 years old, was a security guard at a Rami Levy branch, works hard for a living, cares for a child with special needs. The testimony is heartbreaking. No less. It resonates with all the other testimonies we have already heard, but it is impossible to get used to it. Simply impossible. As part of the campaign of abuse he allegedly underwent at the hands of "the lady", Ohav-Ami suffered a heart attack, then a catheterization, and then a pacemaker was implanted in his body.

Here is a filtered and edited summary of the event: first, the racism. Ohav-Ami explicitly says that it is racism of the highest order. There is, he says, a worker from Africa at the residence. Sara, according to him, forces her to change clothes upon her arrival, so that God forbid she does not wear her own clothes in the residence. She changes clothes in the basement. When there is food that has expired, the instruction is to give it to the African woman.

Not to understand what level of madness, cruelty, systemic insanity, stinginess, bossiness, and who knows what else we are dealing with, but to understand what the Prime Minister of Israel has to live with. And when they ask Ohav-Ami what Netanyahu himself, the strong leader, does in the face of these terrible scenes, he answers what everyone who has ever been there answers:

"Netanyahu is very weak next to her, she controls him in everything, yells at him, silences him. She would treat the Prime Minister with complete control. Everything he did, her word was the first, the middle, and the last. In all the situations I was present in, he did not decide anything".
