Widow of Fallen Soldier Uriel Cohen Remarries in Emotional Ceremony
Hana, widow of fallen IDF Staff Sergeant Uriel Cohen who fell in Gaza in 2023, remarried Amit Eshel in a moving wedding ceremony attended by family and friends.
Almost three years after losing her husband, Hana, the widow of Staff Sergeant (res.) Uriel Cohen, who fell in battle in Gaza, remarried Amit Eshel on Wednesday evening. The night before the wedding, she shared a photo of the late Uriel and wrote: "My beloved Uriel, you are an inseparable part of this. I heard you are coming to the canopy along with all the souls connected to us. Do me a favor, accompany us. Give strength to me and our daughters. We will never forget you."
A Moving Ceremony and Tributes
During the canopy ceremony, Hana delivered a deeply emotional speech: "Amidst all the great sorrow, I have been privileged to love two high and special souls simultaneously – Uriel and Amit. My Uriel, who will remain forever young, with the beautiful blue eyes and the big smile that instantly revealed his special heart. And Amit, the tall Amit as my daughters call you. You entered our lives with immense courage, sensitivity, and a special dedication I have never encountered. You entered my heart in a storm, into the additional heart that God gave me, and today our souls are privileged to unite."
Family members and friends attended the emotional wedding held at the Ha Ahuza venue, including public figures who shared their impressions of the profound moment. MK Limor Son Har-Melech attended the event and blessed the couple.

Remembering Staff Sergeant Uriel Cohen
Staff Sergeant (res.) Uriel Cohen, a Namer armored vehicle commander in the Givati Brigade's administrative support unit, fell in December 2023 during combat in the southern Gaza Strip. He left behind his wife and two young daughters, Shir and Lia, who were toddlers at the time of his passing.
