Channel 14 panelist enters politics: "I didn't plan to"

Elections are approaching rapidly and party lists are beginning to close. The Zehut party, led by Moshe Feiglin, officially announced on Sunday the joining of reserve officer and one of the leaders of the reservists' protest, 29-year-old Captain (res.) Omer Patziniash-Waldman.

The official announcement of her joining will take place during the party conference at Expo Tel Aviv, in front of hundreds of supporters and activists. Since the outbreak of the war, Patziniash-Waldman has been active on both military and civilian fronts, calling for a clear victory, governance, sovereignty, and deep changes in the national priorities of the State of Israel. She also frequently appeared in news studios and became an almost permanent fixture on panels on Channel 14.

In her first speech as a party candidate, she said:

"I didn't plan to enter politics, but after seeing up close the gap between the strength of the fighters and the way decisions are made, I understood that the time has come for people driven by ideals to take the reins."

She added that she chose the Zehut party because she found in it an ideology that prioritizes principles over seats and a lack of apology for us being the Jewish people in our land.

Zehut party chairman Moshe Feiglin welcomed her joining and stated:

"Omer is exactly the voice that the State of Israel needs at this time. She represents the generation of heroism that is not willing to hand over its future again to the same concept that led to the disaster of October 7."

According to him, her joining is an expression of a deep process in which the generation called to the flag on the battlefield understands that it must also take responsibility for leading the country so that its sacrifice will not be in vain.
