Forces from the Paratroopers Brigade operating in the southern Gaza Strip shot a terrorist on Wednesday who crossed the 'yellow line' and approached the troops in a way that posed an immediate threat.
The IDF Spokesperson stated: "IDF forces under the Southern Command are deployed in the area in accordance with the agreement and will continue to act to remove any immediate threat."
Earlier this week, security officials confirmed that opportunities to attack Hamas military wing operatives were missed over the last few days due to government policy. Conversely, senior political officials told Walla that "this is a complete lie; the IDF did not bring a single targeted killing operation for approval in the last week."
It was further reported that the Hamas leadership based in Qatar and Turkey exerted pressure on Qatar, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and other countries, including the Peace Council, which pressured the White House to stop the targeted killings. In Jerusalem, instructions were given to reduce the number of targeted killings, but even this did not satisfy the Americans, and the operations were stopped completely earlier this week.
