A "Power Couple" contestant painfully reveals: "Yes, I am overweight"
After being injured during a challenging task at a great height, the show's star discovered that netizens were focusing on only one thing and decided to fight back in an especially painful post.

An official and sharp response following a wave of offensive comments: Shir Taran, a contestant on "Power Couple," decided not to remain silent after the video of her fall during a challenging task on the show received many offensive comments online. In the task in question, which took place at a great height between two ramps suspended in the air, Shir was afraid to jump, stumbled, hit her head, and was lowered down using a harness. While other contestants who suffered failures or injuries received sympathy, Shir discovered that in her case, netizens chose to focus on only one thing: her weight.
In a post full of pain, Shir poured out her heart and clarified that the attempt to project the specific fear she experienced at a height onto her physical appearance is a clear example of unjustified stigmas in society:
"Listen, in every post on the internet that uploaded my fall, the amount of fatphobic comments is abnormal. Not that I need to prove anything to anyone, but it's clear that I managed to jump in the end. The reason I didn't succeed the first time is fear, not a lack of physical ability. When other contestants were injured, no one said anything because they aren't fat. But when the society we live in is so fatphobic, everything is blamed on weight when it comes to a girl who isn't thin. I have been training for years and am in significantly better shape than the rest of the people who comment and pretend to talk about health."
Shir, who proves in every episode that she does not let any obstacle or comment bring her down, continued and emphasized the importance of character and humanity over rigid beauty ideals:
"Yes, I am overweight. But I don't let it limit me at any stage. I do every task successfully, take care of my health, maintain a training routine, and most importantly, I will never post shocking comments and bring another person down just because of how they look. And that is more important than how I look."
She ended her remarks with a direct appeal to all those who claim that the discussion around body image has already passed its time:
"And then they even dare to tell me that the topic of body image is tiresome. As tiresome as it may be, we are not close to the point where we will need to stop talking about it. Everyone who commented on these videos, do some soul-searching as to why you are so miserable that you feel the need to spread evil (and no, I am not talking about the humorous comments, I am the first to laugh at myself and I have done that too)."
