Stedman Bailey, a former NFL player, was arrested in Florida along with a 35-year-old woman after they were accused of lewd behavior in public at an entertainment center located inside a mall.
According to police, the incident occurred shortly before 00:30 on July 27 at Round1, a bowling and arcade complex at the Pembroke Lakes Mall in Pembroke Pines. Officers were called to the scene following reports from eyewitnesses about sexual activity by the pair in the bar area.
The 35-year-old Bailey and Karina Manderson were arrested on suspicion of having sex in public. According to the police report, investigators obtained security footage of the incident. A witness who was present at the scene told police that he asked the two to stop, after which Bailey pulled up his pants and they left the bar area.
During interrogation, Bailey admitted that he and Manderson had their pants down and that his genitals were exposed, but denied that penetration occurred. According to him, the behavior was due to the amount of alcohol they had consumed earlier. Manderson claimed she did not remember the incident due to alcohol consumption. Police noted there was no indication that any substance had been added to their drinks. The two later pleaded not guilty.
Bailey was selected in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft by the St. Louis Rams and played for the team for three seasons. His career was cut short following a severe incident in November 2015, when he was shot multiple times while sitting in a parked car in Miami Gardens. Bailey was critically injured, survived the shooting, but did not return to play in the NFL.
