Hamas terrorist who held hostages in Rafah and commanded the capture of the Sufa post has been eliminated
On Wednesday, Muhammad Mahmoud Marshed al-Qadi, a commander in the Nukhba force, was eliminated in the Khan Yunis area. Al-Qadi commanded the capture of the Sufa post on October 7 and was subsequently involved in holding Israeli hostages. Despite the ceasefire, the IDF and Shin Bet clarify that the terrorist worked to rehabilitate Hamas, conducted training, and planned terror plots against our forces, and was therefore neutralized to remove an immediate threat.
The security establishment continues to settle scores with the planners and perpetrators of the October 7 massacre. In a joint statement released today (Friday) by the IDF Spokesperson and the Shin Bet Spokesperson, it was announced that security forces carried out a targeted strike the day before yesterday in the Khan Yunis area in the southern Gaza Strip, eliminating a key target of the Hamas terrorist organization.
The terrorist neutralized is Muhammad Mahmoud Marshed al-Qadi, who served as a commander of a Nukhba company in the military wing of Hamas. Al-Qadi was not just another routine field commander in the Strip; he was the man who directly commanded the murderous raid on the Sufa post on the morning of October 7. His role in Hamas's crimes did not end on the day of the massacre; the security establishment reveals that al-Qadi took an active and ongoing part in holding Israeli hostages who were kept in Hamas captivity in the Rafah area throughout the months of the war.
The IDF and Shin Bet were quick to clarify that the targeted strike was an operational necessity that could not be delayed, after the terrorist systematically and clearly violated the agreement. Israeli intelligence identified that recently, under the cover of the relative calm, al-Qadi led training for new terrorists and worked vigorously to rehabilitate the organization's capabilities, which had suffered a severe blow.
According to the IDF Spokesperson, al-Qadi was working on advancing concrete terror plots against IDF forces and citizens of the State of Israel, while blatantly trampling on the ceasefire. In light of the incriminating intelligence, the Southern Command decided to act quickly and eliminate him in order to remove the immediate threat he posed. Parallel to the announcement of the elimination, the IDF conveyed a dual message, emphasizing that forces are deployed in the area in accordance with the official agreement, but at the same time will continue to act with zero tolerance to remove any threat that may arise on the ground.
