Panelist of 'The Patriots' against the Prime Minister: 'This alliance will cost Netanyahu his chair'

Media personality and 'The Patriots' panelist, Avi Shoshan, leveled sharp criticism at Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the leadership of the ultra-Orthodox parties in an interview for the 'Lecha Techapes' podcast by Yossi Marshak on the All in network. Shoshan, considered one of the prominent voices on the right, clarified that the burning issue of equality in the burden of service is going to exact a heavy political price and lead to surprising results in the next elections.

'I told Netanyahu in the clearest way possible: this blind alliance with the ultra-Orthodox, and the conduct surrounding core issues and equality in the burden of service, will eventually cost him his rule,' said Shoshan.

Shoshan revealed the things he threw directly at the Prime Minister, according to which the conduct surrounding the conscription law will cost him his chair. According to him, the Israeli public, including the traditional base of support for the right, both religious and secular, is no longer willing to overlook the lack of equality in the burden of service after the events of October 7.

'The public in the end, it doesn't matter if you are right-wing or left-wing, if you live in the center or the periphery, if you are Mizrahi or Ashkenazi, is not ready for this inequality in the burden of service.' Shoshan emphasized that the alliance with the ultra-Orthodox, while it brought Netanyahu a government, will not bring him the next term, as military service has become the sole common denominator of Israeli society.

In addition, Shoshan directed particularly sharp criticism toward the heads of the ultra-Orthodox parties, whom he sees as shirkers of the magnitude of the hour. Shoshan called on the Shas chairman to vacate his seat and accused him of destroying the party. According to him, Deri took a broad traditional movement that appealed to the entire nation and turned it into a sectoral ultra-Orthodox party while canceling the original vision of Rabbi Ovadia Yosef to 'restore the crown to its former glory.'

Regarding Yitzhak Goldknopf, he claimed that Goldknopf's representation is a 'disgrace and a shame.' He attacked his eye-catching travel with a siren in traffic jams, and noted that slogans like 'we will die and not be drafted' outrage the public, which is no longer able to contain the lack of ultra-Orthodox conscription during wartime.

Shoshan's words reflect a deep upheaval within the right-wing bloc. The lack of willingness of the ultra-Orthodox leadership to understand the magnitude of the change that the war has wrought in Israeli society, along with its insistence on sectoral priorities, could dismantle the coalition from within and change the political map in Israel from end to end.
