Aviation giant brings good news to travelers: four new destinations launched from Ben Gurion Airport
The airline Blue Bird Airways is expanding its operations in Israel ahead of the autumn season and the holidays, offering flights at particularly competitive prices to the most beloved vacation destination for Israelis.

The Greek airline Blue Bird Airways is significantly expanding its operations from Israel to Italy. Starting in September, it will operate direct flights from Tel Aviv to four destinations: Rome, Bologna, and Naples. These will join Bergamo (Milan), where the company has been operating flights since May 2026, making Italy one of the company's core destinations from Ben Gurion Airport.
Expanding operations includes high frequencies, allowing passengers greater flexibility in planning a vacation or business trip. The flights will be operated by Blue Bird and TUS and are available for purchase on the airlines' websites, in search engines, and through travel agents.
The planned activity schedule starting from September 2026:
-
Rome: Starting September 3, three weekly flights; from September 13, the line will be operated with a daily flight.
-
Bologna: Starting September 2, three weekly flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
-
Naples: Starting September 16, two weekly flights on Wednesdays and Fridays; from September 25, operations will be increased to three weekly flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
-
Bergamo (Milan): The company operates a daily flight.
Amit Sagi, Deputy CEO of Blue Bird Airways and TUS Air, stated:
"Italy continues to be one of the most sought-after vacation destinations among Israelis, and we see this both in demand and in Ben Gurion Airport data, which indicate an increase in passenger traffic to the country. Expanding operations to four destinations allows us to offer a broader response to travelers, whether they are planning a vacation in northern Italy, in the center, or in the south."
He further added:
"The timing is also ideal: autumn is one of the most beautiful times to travel in Italy, with pleasant weather and fewer crowds. Combined with the Tishrei holidays, it allows for enjoying a longer and more flexible vacation. We believe that the combination of the variety of destinations, high frequencies, and competitive prices starting from €270 round trip will lead to continued growth in passenger traffic between the countries."
