Child rescued after hand gets stuck in metal whisk

The 102 dispatch center of the Fire and Rescue Authority received a report on Friday regarding a child whose hand was trapped inside a metal mixer whisk at home. Upon arrival, firefighters found the child unable to free his hand from the rigid metal wires.

The firefighters calmed the child and began delicate rescue operations. Using specialized tools and a miniature cutting device, they cut the metal wires with extreme caution, one after the other, until the child's hand was freed safely and without injury.

The incident commander stated:

«This was a delicate and complex rescue that required great precision and high sensitivity to prevent injury to the child's hand during the cutting. The firefighters acted professionally, calmly, and with great caution while using designated tools, calmed the child throughout the operation, and rescued him safely.»
