13-year-old boy injured during a hike in Nahal Amud: evacuated to hospital in stable condition
The teenager, a resident of Netanya, slipped during the ascent, tumbled about 15 meters down the slope, and sustained a head injury. After initial treatment in the field, he was evacuated on a stretcher out of the reserve and from there to Ziv Hospital in Safed.
A 13-year-old boy from Netanya was injured today, Sunday, during a hike in Nahal Amud after slipping from a rock ledge during an ascent and tumbling about 15 meters down the slope. As a result of the fall, he sustained a head injury that required medical evacuation.
The report of the incident was received by the MADA dispatch center, and the teenager remained conscious throughout the entire event. In the field, he received initial treatment from a MADA paramedic and a medic from the 'Galil-Carmel' rescue unit, which included cervical collar fixation, bandaging, and stabilization of his condition.
Due to the terrain conditions and the risk of falling rocks, the stretcher on which the teenager was evacuated was secured using ropes. Afterward, he was carried on foot on a stretcher out of the reserve, where a MADA intensive care ambulance was waiting.
The teenager was evacuated to Ziv Hospital in Safed for further examinations and treatment; his condition is defined as stable.
