The horrific incident occurred at approximately 1:35 PM at the Yorkshire Wildlife Park. Footage circulated on social media showed the victim, dressed in a black sweater, sitting on the ground inside the enclosure as a tiger bit his chest and scratched his legs. Eyewitnesses reported hearing gunshots during the rescue operation, adding that the animal held him by the neck.
Two ambulances and a rescue helicopter were dispatched to the scene, but medical personnel were forced to pronounce the man dead at the site. The park was quickly evacuated, a black screen was erected around the enclosure, and the facility will remain closed until further notice.
South Yorkshire Police stated that the tiger was unharmed in the incident and remained in the enclosure. Park management emphasized that emergency protocols were immediately activated and that they are cooperating fully with authorities investigating the tragedy.
