US President Donald Trump playfully responded to speculation regarding rapper Nicki Minaj potentially becoming the new White House Press Secretary during a weekend interview on the web program The Benny Show, hosted by commentator Benny Johnson. Responding to a viral social media trend, Trump remarked that it is a good idea and something he would consider.

The lighthearted rumor began after the 43-year-old artist joined Trump aboard Air Force One en route to a campaign rally in Michigan. During the flight, Minaj praised the president and his policies. White House Communications Director Steven Cheung subsequently shared a video of the interaction on X, writing that they may have found their new press secretary. Trump advisor Alex Bruesewitz and the official White House account also engaged with the viral moment online.

Trump's praise extended beyond social media banter during the Michigan rally itself. Addressing the crowd, the president made candid remarks about the rapper and asked her to stand so attendees could acknowledge her.

Minaj has recently emerged as an outspoken supporter of the president, appearing at his rally and endorsing his administration despite facing online backlash and a noticeable drop in social media followers as a result of her political stance.
