The property is an old house with an electrical system installed during the 1970s. Reports indicate that the electrical panel lacked a residual current device (RCD), a vital safety component designed to detect current leakage and immediately cut off power to prevent electrocution.
As part of the investigation, authorities are verifying reports that a certificate of compliance for the property's electrical system was issued in 2024. Officials are reviewing documents to determine how a system without an RCD was approved and whether safety standards were upheld.
