"Everything with Netanyahu's knowledge": Demand for investigation into Hamas ties
MK Yulia Malinovsky (Yisrael Beiteinu) is demanding that the Attorney General launch an investigation into Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and businessman Shlomi Fogel over suspicions of business dealings with the terrorist organization Hamas.
Member of Knesset Yulia Malinovsky (Yisrael Beiteinu) turned to the Attorney General, Gali Baharav-Miara, on Saturday with an urgent demand to open an investigation. The request, as detailed in a letter shared by Malinovsky on social media, is based on a journalistic investigation published earlier this week.
At the center of the complaint is businessman Shlomi Fogel, an associate of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. According to reports, during Operation "Protective Edge" in 2014, Fogel engaged in direct contact with senior Hamas official Ghazi Hamad. MK Malinovsky notes that Fogel claimed to have acted on behalf of the Prime Minister—a claim Netanyahu has denied—but according to Malinovsky, Fogel has presented documentation supporting his version of events.
In her social media post, Malinovsky stated:
"There are very serious suspicions here of business cooperation between an Israeli citizen and a terrorist organization, and all with Netanyahu's knowledge."
In her letter to the Attorney General, Malinovsky presents two grave possibilities: either Fogel acted on his own initiative, thereby committing offenses related to contact with a foreign agent, or, more severely, he acted with the knowledge or approval of the Prime Minister.
Malinovsky emphasized that she had previously raised similar concerns with the Lahav 433 unit and the head of the Shin Bet throughout 2024, yet she has received no response. Given the gravity of the matter, she is demanding an independent, thorough, and exhaustive investigation into the nature of these alleged contacts.
