In an unprecedented move, the Professional Football Leagues organization announced that the losing team in the upcoming Toto Cup final between Maccabi Tel Aviv and Hapoel Tel Aviv will not participate on the pitch for the traditional medal and trophy-lifting ceremony.

Organizers took the decision ahead of Thursday's high-stakes derby at Bloomfield Stadium to prevent severe fan friction, verbal abuse, or potential pitch invasions. While standard protocol worldwide dictates that the runners-up remain on the field to receive silver medals and watch the victors celebrate, Thursday's ceremony will feature only the winning side.

To maintain security and avoid prolonged tension on the grass while opposing fans jeer, the losing squad will receive their medals privately inside the stadium's locker room. Heavy security forces will be deployed to ensure order throughout the high-profile Tel Aviv derby.
