Granade Thrown on Tel Aviv Street for Second Time in a Week
A fragmentation grenade was thrown on Menachem Begin Street in Tel Aviv for the second time in a week, damaging a bus stop. Police suspect a link to an illegal gambling dispute.
For the second time in less than a week, a fragmentation grenade was thrown early Tuesday morning on Menachem Begin Street in Tel Aviv, hitting the exact same spot as a similar incident last Thursday. The explosion damaged a nearby bus shelter, shattering its glass panes with shrapnel. No injuries were reported.
Police Investigation into Criminal Dispute
Officers from the Lev Tel Aviv station in the Yarkon district were dispatched to the scene following reports of an explosion. Tel Aviv district sappers arrived, conducted sweeps, and collected evidence. Initial findings indicate that a fragmentation grenade was detonated.
Police suspect the incidents are linked to an ongoing criminal dispute over an apartment in the area that was previously used as an illegal gambling club. Authorities recently shut down the location, and investigators are now examining whether the grenade attacks are retaliation related to the closure.
Wave of Criminal Violence
"The growing use of weaponry in criminal conflicts poses a real danger to innocent civilians, risking lives in residential neighborhoods and public spaces."
This incident follows a series of violent events involving explosives across central Israel in recent days, including a stun grenade thrown into the ninth-floor lobby of a residential building in Holon, as well as incidents in Rehovot and Ness Ziona. Police have not yet made any arrests and the investigation continues.
