Israeli Tech Sector Donates NIS 12 Million via Tamoura Fund
Israeli high-tech companies donated approximately NIS 12,000,000 to over 50 social organizations through the Tamoura Fund. The unique model converts startup options into cash during major exits.

The Israeli high-tech industry continues to demonstrate that economic success goes hand in hand with deep social commitment. Over the past year, local technology companies donated approximately NIS 12,000,000 to the community through the Tamoura Fund. The donations were distributed to more than 50 non-profit and social organizations, including NATAL, SAHAR, Matzmichim, and Chiburim, supporting citizens aged 20 to 80.
The Option Donation Model
The unique model of the Tamoura Fund allows early-stage startups to donate equity options instead of cash. Upon an exit or an initial public offering (IPO), these options are exercised into liquid cash, which is then transferred to educational and social causes.
During the past year, several companies stood out by registering impressive exits and donating a portion of their proceeds. These included Astrix Security, acquired by Cisco for approximately $400 million, and Teramount, acquired by Molex for approximately $430 million. Additionally, 43 new companies joined the fund this year.
Tech Ecosystem Commitment
Baruch Lipner, CEO of the Tamoura Fund, highlighted these achievements:
"This was an extraordinary year for Tamoura, especially against the backdrop of the immense challenges faced by Israeli society. Despite the geopolitical and economic complexity, we see the strength and commitment of the Israeli technology ecosystem to society as a whole. It is encouraging to see that the industry's success is measured not only by acquisition value, but also by its contribution to the society in which it grows."
Since its establishment in 2002 by Yadin Kaufman, the fund has contributed over NIS 135 million to social activities in Israel. The fund management hopes that the trend of new companies joining and contributing will continue to expand in the coming years.
