Huge exit in Israeli high-tech: startup sold for $1 billion

The company Cyera announces today, Wednesday, the completion of the acquisition of the Israeli startup Oasis Security in a deal valued at $1 billion. The acquisition combines Cyera's capabilities for understanding and securing corporate data with Oasis's platform for managing and securing non-human identities, uniting for the first time the two sides of any access to corporate information — the data itself and the identity requesting access to it.

The integration of the platforms will allow the world's largest organizations to manage from a single system the access of humans, systems, and AI agents to corporate information, and the actions they are authorized to perform.

The acquisition comes at a turning point in the cyber industry. The rapid shift to AI agents creates a new type of identity that operates autonomously, at machine speed, and with high permissions. An AI agent does not need to be hacked to cause damage — it is enough that it has access to information not intended for it.

According to Cyera, among Fortune 500 companies, the number of non-human identities has grown by nearly 500% in the last half-year alone. At the same time, more actions that were previously performed directly by human users are being delegated to AI agents that operate independently and at a massive scale. This transition requires organizations to adapt their information security and infrastructure management strategy to a reality where AI agents gain access to information and perform actions independently.

Oasis Security was founded in 2022 by Danny Brickman (CEO) and Amit Zimmerman (CPO). The two met during their military service in intelligence Unit 81. Oasis developed a platform for managing non-human identities, one of the fastest-growing and least managed areas in corporate security today.

The platform allows organizations to continuously and policy-based manage which systems and AI agents can access which resources, in what context, and for how long. Over the last three years, Oasis has worked with Fortune 500 companies on transitioning from fixed and persistent permissions to a dynamic model adapted to the speed and scale of AI agent activity.

With the completion of the deal, the Oasis platform will become Cyera Identity, the dedicated identity layer in the Cyera platform, and will be connected directly to the company's data intelligence layer. This will unify data and identity management under one platform, which will allow organizations to make access decisions based on the identity, the information it seeks to access, and the context in which the action is performed.
