SolarEdge Shares Fall as Q4 Revenue Forecast Misses Analyst Estimates
SolarEdge shares declined after forecasting fourth-quarter revenue below analyst estimates, citing persistent market uncertainty and softer demand despite solid third-quarter results.

SolarEdge Technologies shares tumbled following the release of its financial results and a weaker-than-expected fourth-quarter revenue outlook, contrasting with broader pre-market gains across the solar sector driven by the Democratic midterm election victory.
The company projects fourth-quarter revenue between $245 million and $275 million, falling significantly short of analysts' consensus expectations of approximately $318 million. At the midpoint, this represents a 22.5% decline compared to the same period last year. Furthermore, SolarEdge anticipates a Non-GAAP gross margin of 17% to 21% for the final quarter, down sharply from 34.7% in the third quarter.
Leadership Response and Strategic Adjustments
Chief Executive Officer Ronen Nir addressed the market challenges, stating:
«Market uncertainty persists in the near term, and given the lower revenue outlook for the fourth quarter, we are taking decisive steps to reduce costs, sharpen our focus, and support profitability amid softer demand.»
Nir added that the company is accelerating efforts in the AI data center power infrastructure market, where it is seeing growing interest. This follows recent reports that SolarEdge is laying off 200 employees as part of its restructuring.
Third-Quarter Financial Performance
During the third quarter, SolarEdge reported revenue of $326 million, meeting analyst forecasts but marking a 4.1% decrease year-over-year. For the first nine months of the year, total revenue grew by 15.7% to approximately $983 million.
The company posted a quarterly net loss of $8.4 million, representing a significant narrowing compared to a net loss of $50.1 million in the same quarter last year. On a Non-GAAP basis, SolarEdge recorded an operating income of $23.9 million and a net profit of $21.1 million, with adjusted EBITDA reaching $31.8 million.
Traded on the Nasdaq with a market capitalization of roughly $2 billion prior to the earnings release, the stock had staged an impressive recovery in recent quarters before dropping 58% from its June peak.
