Similarweb has announced the appointment of Michael Ackerman as its new Chief Executive Officer, succeeding co-founder Or Offer, who led the company for nearly two decades. Ackerman will officially assume the role on November 2, 2026, following Offer's departure announcement in May.
According to a BusinessWire report, Ackerman brings approximately two decades of executive management experience in the data and technology sectors. He previously served as Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) at data.ai, formerly known as App Annie, which served a client base similar to Similarweb's. His background also includes senior roles such as Chief Product and Strategy Officer at Cardlytics, alongside senior commercial leadership positions at Uber and Pinterest.
International Experience and Transition
Ackerman also possesses prior familiarity with the Israeli high-tech market, having started his career in sales and strategy roles at the Israeli software company Kenshoo, now known as Skai. He holds a degree from the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia, and will manage Similarweb from the company's New York offices.
Alongside the executive transition, the handover will be conducted gradually. Or Offer will continue to closely accompany the company during the transition period to assist Ackerman and the board of directors, ensuring operational continuity for clients, partners, and employees.
Strategic Continuity and Future Growth

Similarweb emphasized that the leadership change does not signal a shift in the company's business direction. The overarching strategy, operational activities, and financial forecasts remain unchanged. Simultaneously, the company intends to focus on expanding its AI-driven data products while accelerating commercial operations in existing and new markets.
