Shir Elmaliach against critics online: "I do what I think is right"

Shir Elmaliach finds herself once again at the center of a media storm, this time surrounding parenting decisions and the boundaries between motherhood and the world of glamour. In a recent interview, she spoke openly about social media photos, luxury jewelry for babies, and ear piercing at a young age.

Elmaliach clarified that her principles regarding her children are very clear. "I am not one of those mothers who will put an emoji on their child's face," she declared in an interview with 'Good Evening with Guy Pines'. "It's either I upload or I don't upload. But to upload the baby and put a monkey emoji on her? That seems less logical to me."

The discussion heated up especially around the trend of luxury jewelry for toddlers, which includes Versace watches worth thousands of shekels, gold bracelets, and earrings, as well as Elmaliach's decision to pierce her daughter's ears at the age of a year and a half. The move sparked a wave of sharp reactions online, but Elmaliach remains firm in her position:

"The father's reaction was harsh! (laughs) I made him a video while we were doing it and he immediately turned off the phone. But it was a matter of a second. In my eyes, it's super cute. I have had earrings in my ears since I was half a year old."

When asked about the criticism she received from other mothers online, she did not hesitate to clarify that she is not moved by comments: "I'll tell you the truth, I'm not interested in what other mothers say. I'm not interested in what other people say, not about me, not about my family. In the end, I do what I want and what I think is right. It's a souvenir, and I think we can get great photos here. Whatever she wants to do when she grows up, she will do, and I will support her in everything."

She also backs the exposure of her daughter Emmanuel to campaigns and cameras with full confidence, emphasizing that everything is done by listening to the child's desires and setting clear boundaries. "I see my child, I see that she likes it. She really likes cameras. If I had seen at home that she wasn't flowing with these things, of course I wouldn't have brought her here. Emmanuel and I are in the same agency; everything goes through my approval, and we refuse offers that don't seem appropriate."
