Sharren Haskel joins forces with 'Ale Yarok': "Full legalization"
A surprising political union: 'Israel Tkhila' chair Sharren Haskel and 'Ale Yarok' chair Nir Yuftro announced a joint run. The platform focuses on cannabis legalization, deep reform for patients, and assistance for hundreds of thousands of PTSD victims following the war.
At a launch event held in Tel Aviv, 'Israel Tkhila' party chair and MK Sharren Haskel, along with 'Ale Yarok' chair Nir Yuftro, announced a joint run in the upcoming Knesset elections. The move aims to merge the security and liberal economic platform of 'Israel Tkhila' with the historical advocacy of 'Ale Yarok' regarding individual liberty and medical cannabis rights.
The alliance prioritizes providing support to hundreds of thousands of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) victims following three years of war, including both combatants and civilians. The joint list intends to push for legalization, comprehensive medical cannabis reform, the removal of bureaucratic barriers for patients, and the promotion of innovative mental health treatments.
"For years I fought in the Knesset for legalization, individual liberty, and an end to the unnecessary persecution of citizens. After three years of war, when thousands are dealing with injuries, it is time for the State of Israel to stop creating difficulties and start helping. We are connecting the Zionist and liberal right with the energy of 'Ale Yarok'," stated Sharren Haskel.
Nir Yuftro added: "We are no longer asking for favors from the system; we are entering to change it." Lieutenant Colonel (res.) Roi Danino also emphasized the moral obligation toward those physically and mentally injured in battle.
This is not the only political move by Haskel. Since founding 'Israel Tkhila', she has also announced the addition of former spy Jonathan Pollard to the party. Pollard stated that the events of October 7 and the subsequent war clarified to him the need for new leadership capable of taking responsibility.
