Shake-up at News 13: Veteran presenter leaves after nearly a decade
Following the appointment of Suleiman Maswada as correspondent in the United States, veteran journalist Neria Kraus is parting ways with the news company. After exploring alternative roles, a decision was made to conclude her tenure.
A shock at the Reshet 13 news company: journalist Neria Kraus is leaving the channel after nearly ten years of activity. The departure comes in the shadow of the official entry into the position of reporter Suleiman Maswada, who was appointed as the channel's envoy in Washington.
After the decision to entrust Maswada with coverage in the US, talks were held between the news company's management and Kraus to examine alternative roles, but ultimately, the reporter decided to end her path at the company.
Kraus, a graduate of Galei Tzahal, began her on-screen career back in the days of "News 10" as a reporter for the consumer program "HaKol Kalul" ("Everything Included"). Later, she was promoted to the position of culture editor for News 13, and at the beginning of 2023, she moved to Washington as an envoy for the news company.
During her role overseas, she covered the developments of the war and its effects on the administration up close, held conversations with Presidents Joe Biden and Donald Trump, and provided ongoing reports from the stormy political and diplomatic arena.
In an official statement, News 13 thanked Kraus for her work:
"We thank Neria for years of excellent journalism, for professional and uncompromising coverage of the diplomatic and political arena in the US, and for a prominent and important presence on the screen during a period that is stormy and complex like no other. We wish her great success in everything she turns to in the continuation of her path."
As recalled, the replacement of the reporter in the US comes after Suleiman Maswada, one of the prominent reporters at the "Kan 11" broadcasting corporation, announced his departure after nine years and joined News 13 to lead the coverage of the White House and the international arena.
