The ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine continues to escalate, marked by severe mutual strikes over the weekend that caused casualties and structural damage deep within both territories.

In Ukraine, overnight Russian strikes led to a tragic incident in the Fastiv district of the Kyiv region. According to regional authorities, a direct hit destroyed a residential home. Preliminary findings from the district prosecutor's office indicate that a mother had just put her two young children to bed moments before the powerful blast occurred.

The explosion caused the roof to collapse and triggered a massive fire. Emergency crews extinguished the flames but confirmed the deaths of the mother and her two children, while several other injured civilians were evacuated to a local hospital.

Simultaneously, Russian forces struck the central Ukrainian city of Dnipro, where a direct hit on a shopping center sparked a fierce blaze and injured at least four people.

Meanwhile, Russia reported a large-scale Ukrainian drone attack targeting Moscow and the surrounding region. Russian news agencies and the mayor of Moscow stated that air defense systems intercepted 186 Ukrainian drones heading toward the capital overnight.

Russian authorities acknowledged that a local oil refinery facility sustained damage from falling debris, and emergency teams were deployed across the region. Despite the scale of the energy infrastructure damage, officials in Moscow reported no casualties from the drone barrage.
