US Secretary of State Marco Rubio called on Israel to take a harsher stance against settler attacks in the West Bank following recent incidents involving foreign diplomats and journalists near Ramallah.

Speaking to reporters in Washington before departing for Uzbekistan, Rubio addressed footage from the weekend. "We are deeply troubled by these images and what we are seeing," Rubio said, adding that the State Department is seeking answers regarding the injury of Washington Post photographer Heidi Levine.

Levine, 64, and another individual were injured and hospitalized after being attacked by settlers near Khirbet Abu Falah in the Binyamin region while documenting violence against Palestinians. The following day, masked settlers attacked Palestinians and European diplomats from Belgium, France, and Poland near the village of Taybeh.

In Israel, The Democrats leader Yair Golan called to resume administrative detentions against violent extremists, stating that the current coalition policies are fueling lawlessness in the region.
