The State Attorney's Office filed an indictment on Sunday at the Magistrate's Court in Petah Tikva against 49-year-old Raz Weinberger from Ein Hahoresh, following a series of posts on the X platform inciting the murder of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, coalition officials, and government supporters. The indictment charges him with 10 counts of incitement to terrorism and 18 counts of incitement to violence.

Alongside the indictment, the State Attorney's Office requested that Weinberger be detained until the conclusion of legal proceedings. According to the indictment, filed by attorney Maya Nitzan from the Cyber Department of the State Attorney's Office, over a period of about a month and a half amid the 26th Knesset election campaign, Weinberger published explicit calls for violence and murder on his public X account.

Among the severe statements cited in the indictment, Weinberger responded to a post on Netanyahu's account, writing: "Benjamin Netanyahu, the greatest traitor in the country's history, deserves the death penalty." In another post, he reportedly called for burning the prime minister and his family members alive.

The indictment also notes that in response to a post by MK Almog Cohen, Weinberger wrote: "Your parents should watch how they behead you and throw your head to Gazans to play soccer." The Cyber Department emphasized that the systematic, repetitive, and violent nature of the publications, coupled with election-period tensions, demonstrates his dangerousness to the public.

Prosecutors stressed that these were not isolated remarks written in the heat of the moment, but a sustained pattern of calls for violence against public figures and ideological opponents. Furthermore, the detention request highlighted that Weinberger until recently possessed a firearm, a circumstance prosecutors argue amplifies the concern that he could act upon his violent threats.
