Ra'anana Mall Invests NIS 12 Million in New Movieland Cinema and Rooftop Padel Complex
Kanyon Raananim in Ra'anana is investing NIS 12 million to build a 10-screen Movieland cinema complex alongside a massive 12-court rooftop padel facility as part of an urban renewal project.
The Raanan Mall (Kanyon Raananim) in Ra'anana is undergoing a significant transformation, expanding its cultural, sports, and entertainment offerings. Movieland is set to build a new 10-screen cinema complex covering approximately 2,500 square meters with an investment of around NIS 12 million. This project accompanies a newly developed 12-court padel complex spanning about 6,000 square meters on the mall's rooftop.
The cinema complex will be established in the space currently occupied by Home Center, which is scheduled to relocate. The plans feature 6 upgraded screening rooms equipped with reclining seats and sofa seating, alongside a dedicated children's and family hall, and a multi-purpose hall designed for performances, theater, conferences, and events.
Culinary Integration and Urban Design
Alongside the auditoriums, a culinary zone will operate featuring a self-service buffet, free-refill beverage stations, and a broad bar. Movieland representatives emphasized that the complex is designed following intimate, urban cinema formats, focusing on comfort and extended leisure activities beyond simply watching films.
The groundbreaking ceremony took place over the weekend, attended by Ra'anana Mayor Chaim Broydo, the management of Kanyon Raananim and the JTLV Group, alongside Movieland executives.
Rooftop Padel Courts
Concurrently, the rooftop sports project is advancing. The 12 padel courts cover a total area of approximately 6,000 square meters. Mayor Broydo announced that the local planning and building subcommittee approved the initiative, which will be operated via a private entrepreneur.
"This cinema complex fits seamlessly into our municipal policy of mixed-use spaces combining business, education, culture, and leisure," said Ra'anana Mayor Chaim Broydo.
According to Movieland CEO Yaniv Harush, the chain is expanding its national footprint from northern Israel to the central region, targeting a total of 60 screens by the end of 2027. The Raanana complex is slated to open in the summer of 2027 following the completion of construction works.
