Pressure at Red Star before the return leg against Hapoel Be'er Sheva: "Here it is always life and death"
Dejan Stankovic will rotate the squad in the league to give his stars a rest before Tuesday: "A loss we didn't expect and apparently weren't ready for."
After the 1:0 loss to Hapoel Be'er Sheva in the first of two matches in the third qualifying round of the Champions League, Red Star Belgrade will meet Novi Pazar tomorrow (Saturday), with Dejan Stankovic expected to rotate his lineup.
"We all know how the first one ended, and therefore the result and the way we approach this game are important to us," said the coach. "We will definitely rotate, we will try to maintain balance, stay strong and focused, and make good preparations for what awaits us on Tuesday. I expect whoever plays to give their maximum, especially since we are coming after a loss we didn't expect and apparently weren't ready for. When I say we, I mean all of us."
Stankovic added: "Recovery is important, both psychologically and mentally, to prepare for this game and the next. I don't separate them. When you are at Red Star, everything is important, and the last loss is proof that everything is important and that in principle, everything here is treated as a matter of life and death. I don't agree with that and I don't look at life that way, but it seems that here it is always a matter of life and death. We will make sure to prepare for these two games with a clear head and come out of them with our heads held high."
