The Population and Immigration Authority has launched its annual winter campaign, offering significant discounts of tens of percent on biometric passport renewals and applications starting November 1.

From November 1 through February 28, the fee for adult passports (over 18) drops to 185 NIS from the regular 290 NIS, saving over 100 NIS per person. For minors, the price is reduced to 105 NIS from 155 NIS.

Additional Discounts for Reservists and Soldiers

Active-duty soldiers, reservists, and national service volunteers are eligible for an additional 50% discount on top of the winter rate, bringing the cost down to just 92.50 NIS. Eligibility is automatically verified when entering an ID number on the official website.

To secure the discounted rate, two strict conditions apply. The promotion runs exclusively from November 1 to February 28, and payments must be made online in advance through the Population and Immigration Authority website. Citizens who pay at the bureau will be charged the full standard rate.

Important Guidelines for Bureau Visits

Appointments must be booked in advance via the Govisit system. Biometric passport issuance requires personal attendance for facial imaging and fingerprinting, so home passport photos are not needed. Adults receive a 10-year passport, while minors receive a 5-year document.

Crucially, citizens do not need to complete their bureau visit by February 28. The determining factor is the online payment date. Individuals can pay the discounted fee online before February 28 and schedule their appointment for a later date without losing the discount.
