Police Pledge Zero Tolerance for Election Disruption Threats

Head of the Israel Police Investigations and Intelligence Department, Deputy Commissioner Boaz Blat, declared on Wednesday that police will maintain a zero-tolerance policy toward any attempts to disrupt the upcoming elections. Speaking at an awards ceremony, Blat emphasized the ongoing effort to detect online deception and disinformation.
During his address this morning at the ceremony honoring outstanding officers of the Investigations Department and the Lahav 433 unit, Blat elaborated on the technological threats looming over the democratic process. He noted that the police are preparing to combat the misuse of social media and orchestrated fake news campaigns.
This follows recent security briefings, including a meeting held by President Isaac Herzog with Central Election Committee Chairman Justice Noam Solberg and Shin Bet Chief David Zini. During that briefing, officials outlined various domestic and external threats to the electoral integrity, prompting calls for public vigilance.
