Israel Police Halts Celebration for Released Security Prisoner in Hura

Israel Police successfully prevented a festive event in the Negev town of Hura celebrating the release of a security prisoner. The gathering was intended to honor a local resident who previously served a prison sentence for stone-throwing attacks against vehicles traveling on Route 31.

The police operation was launched following intelligence received by the Ayarot police station in the Rotem region. Upon receiving the report close to the event time, station officers alongside National Guard fighters and the SAAR unit deployed to the location to prevent the celebration and maintain public order.

Security Forces Disperse Gathering After Refusal to Leave

According to police spokespersons, attendees were initially given time to disperse independently. After the gathering continued and individuals refused to leave, security forces utilized riot dispersal means until the event ended and participants cleared the area. Police emphasized a zero-tolerance policy against attempts to disrupt public order or create friction points.

"The tables in the Hura hall were already set with all good things, the guests were on their way, and everyone prepared to celebrate a released prisoner," stated Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir. "Only two small details they forgot: the 'groom of the celebration' is a security prisoner who threw stones at vehicles on Route 31 - and the Minister of National Security is Itamar Ben Gvir."

Minister Ben Gvir praised the swift response of the security forces on the ground, noting that the event was dismantled before it even officially began, reinforcing his ongoing policy regarding law and order.
