"Open Netanya too": Gila Gamliel continues the battle over election results
Minister Gila Gamliel appeared before the Likud tribunal, arguing that the irregularities were not accidental but part of a "method." During the hearing, her representative highlighted suspicious discrepancies at a polling station in Netanya, where votes were recorded for a candidate who was not running. The tribunal is considering an inspection of the ballot box.
The Likud tribunal discussed on Tuesday the petitions filed by Minister Gila Gamliel following her claims of irregularities, forgery, and alleged "election theft" at a polling station in Be'er Ya'akov. At the start of the hearing, Gamliel argued that the gaps discovered were evidence of a "method" designed to harm her.
"The Likud movement has been my home for over 22 years. What happened here is an attempt to harm my many years of work in Likud and the broad support I enjoy. The totality of the actions taken indicates that this is not a coincidence but a method," Gamliel stated.
During the hearing, Gamliel's representative, Adv. Hovav Damri, raised concerns regarding the authority under which the ballot boxes were opened and the discrepancies found in the results. He argued that these were not mere typos but systematic malfunctions.
Damri also called for an investigation into the connections between various parties involved, including David Sharan, Tourism Minister Haim Katz, and the security firm Reshef. He claimed that these parties conspired to contaminate the ballot box against Gamliel.
Later, Damri presented an official ballot form and urged the tribunal to examine the polling station in Netanya (02), where he claimed unusual gaps were found. According to him, the form recorded 33 votes for Haim Katz, even though Katz's name did not appear on the official ballot.
"If there is a form with a person who is not running, the form is invalid. It is not me who said it, but Judge Neeman at the Central Elections Committee who ruled so," Damri said.
Following these remarks, the tribunal members turned to David Sharan and raised the possibility of having representatives from both Gamliel and Atiya, along with a representative from the Reshef company, retrieve the Netanya 02 ballot box from the logistics center in Holon for inspection.
