Otzma Yehudit: Full Judicial Reform is a Prerequisite for Next Government
"Otzma Yehudit" has declared that a full judicial reform will be a strict condition for joining the next government, following a High Court ruling regarding a memorial event.
The "Otzma Yehudit" party announced that a full judicial reform will be a prerequisite for joining the next government. The statement came in response to a High Court of Justice decision that the party claims prevents the holding of the official memorial conference for Rabbi Ovadia Yosef.
The party stated that Rabbi Ovadia Yosef was a spiritual leader who dedicated his life to the Torah of Israel and the unity of the people. They added that preventing an official event in his memory is a disgrace that illustrates the deep disconnect between the judicial system and the public.
Linking the High Court decision to their demand for systemic changes, "Otzma Yehudit" emphasized that a comprehensive and genuine judicial reform will serve as a mandatory threshold condition for entering any future coalition government.
