The beloved actress answered user questions and revealed the huge gap between herself and her most well-known character, who became her favorite alter ego and provided for her financially.
A question Orna Banai received on Instagram led her to reveal her special connection to one of the characters she is most identified with. A user wanted to know which of the characters she has performed over the years is most similar to her, and conversely, which one is her favorite. However, Banai chose to answer from a slightly different angle, focusing on a character who, according to her, is very far from her true personality.
"I can say which character is least like me, and that is the one I love to do the most. In one word: Limor," Banai replied. According to her, the great gap between her and Limor does not detract from her connection to the character; rather, it seems that this is exactly what makes the portrayal so enjoyable and significant for her.
Banai detailed the traits that distinguish the two:
"Limor is the opposite of me, she is simply the opposite of me. She is very flowing, very light, devoid of inhibitions, venomous, she has no inhibitions."
Her direct and amusing description made it clear that she sees Limor as a liberated, unrestrained character who is not afraid to say or do things that Banai herself would probably avoid.
However, the answer did not end with a comparison of traits. Banai admitted that Limor embodies for her another side, one that she might have wanted to adopt in her personal life as well: "She is really a kind of alter ego of mine, everything I would like to be, and I am not."
At the end of her response, Banai added a detail that illustrated how much the character influenced her life on a practical level: "I love doing Limor, and thanks to her I bought a house." Thus, alongside the professional and personal connection, it turns out that the character who is least like Orna Banai is also the one who took an especially significant place in her career and life.
