Oklahoma Burglar Dives Through Glass Window But Leaves ID Behind
An Oklahoma burglar made a dramatic escape by diving headfirst through a closed glass window, but accidentally left behind his backpack containing his driver's license.

Some burglars meticulously plan their escape routes, while others improvise at the last second. An Oklahoma resident provided an extraordinary example of the latter when he dived headfirst through a closed glass window in an attempt to escape a police officer who caught him during a burglary. However, in his haste, he left behind a small detail that made the investigators' job much easier.
The Dramatic Escape
The incident took place on October 1 in an empty house in Oklahoma County after police received a report of a break-in. An officer who arrived at the scene noticed a forced back door, and upon entering, found 24-year-old Raven Lee Wooten allegedly dismantling copper wires from a dishwasher.
Bodycam footage shows the suspect standing in the kitchen while the officer orders him to raise his hands, turn around, and get on his knees. Wooten initially appeared to comply, but suddenly started running toward the living room and executed an unexpected maneuver: instead of opening the door, he leaped directly through the closed glass window, shattered it, and vanished outside.
Leaving Behind Evidence
Officers attempted to track down the fugitive using a patrol car and even deployed a drone to scan the area, but without success. However, while the suspect managed to evade the officers, he left behind a backpack containing an item you should never leave at a crime scene: his driver's license.
"He was nice enough to leave behind his backpack, and inside was his driver's license, so it was very easy for us to identify him," joked Aaron Brilbeck, a spokesman for the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office.
According to recent reports, Wooten was identified and faces charges of burglary, resisting arrest, and obstructing an officer.
