With the 26th Knesset elections approaching, Amir Ohana of the Likud party addressed key political issues in an interview on 103fm. He warned against the risks posed by independent right-wing runs, criticized attacks from ultra-Orthodox lawmakers, and confirmed that Likud remains committed to judicial reform.

Warning Against Split Votes on the Right

Addressing the latest polls showing a tie between political blocs, Ohana strongly criticized Ofer Winter for refusing to withdraw from the race. "Ofer Winter's party endangers the right-wing camp and the continuation of our proactive policy against Hamas, Hezbollah, and Iran," Ohana stated.

He warned that such a split could lead to a left-wing government backed by Arab parties. While praising David Ben Zion's withdrawal from Winter's list, Ohana urged Winter to follow suit, noting that splitting the right-wing vote is a dangerous gamble.

Response to Ultra-Orthodox Criticism and Personal Toll

Ohana also responded to harsh remarks by MK Yitzhak Pindrus (United Torah Judaism), who called Ohana's election as Knesset Speaker a "disgrace." "This is a despicable statement," Ohana replied, defending his public service.

Reflecting on the personal cost of political life, Ohana shared how protests outside his home affected his children. He emphasized that while public figures expect scrutiny, families and children should remain off-limits.

Judicial Reform and Military Enlistment

Concluding the interview, Ohana addressed military service and judicial changes. "Deserters must be arrested, whether they are ultra-Orthodox or secular," he declared. He also reaffirmed Likud's dedication to reforming the judicial system, stating that the corrections are designed to restore balance between the branches of government.
