Channel 12 viewers have been tuning into Assi Azar's new emotional reality format, "Who Wants to Start?", where notable figures gather in a circle for deeply personal conversations. Following a premiere focusing on anxiety featuring Ran Danker, Omer Nudelman, Almog Boker, Eli Steen, and Einav Boublil, an upcoming episode is set to air this Friday right after Ulpan Shishi.
A Star-Studded Circle of Confessions
The upcoming episode features a veteran lineup of Israeli cultural icons, including Rafi Ginat, Rivka Michaeli, Nurit Gafon, Tuvia Tzafir, and Gaby Bhany. In preview footage released across social media, Nurit Gafon opened up about her unique vision for the end of her life, sparking immediate curiosity and lighthearted banter among the cast.
"I've decided, I will be cremated. There were many issues regarding the urn. I actually wanted my ashes to be scattered. I hate water, I don't want my ashes scattered in the sea," Gafon shared during the intimate discussion.
Turning into a Lemon Tree in Mitzpe Ramon
Directing her comments to host Assi Azar, Gafon detailed her elaborate ecological wish. "You know what I wanted? I wanted to be a lemon tree. I wanted to be cremated, and my ashes to serve as organic fertilizer, and for someone to buy a lemon tree to be planted in Mitzpe Ramon so I can be organic waste."
Veteran media personality Rafi Ginat dryly quipped to the rest of the circle, "This is starting to go downhill," eliciting laughs. Gafon continued painting her vivid picture, imagining a bench placed beneath her leafy legacy where friends and strangers could enjoy the citrus scent and take in the desert view of Mitzpe Ramon. In another characteristically humorous and touching twist, she added that she wouldn't mind serving as a bench for the homeless, providing a resting place for those in need.
Nurit Gafon, widely known for her decades-long career in Israeli television, as a panelist on shows like Galit and Ilanit, and as the former wife of the late poet and author Yonatan Gefen and mother of rock star Aviv Gefen, continues to captivate audiences with her uncompromising authenticity and wit.
