"Our new home": Chef Omer Miller relocates to Thailand with his family

Chef Omer Miller and his wife Shiranka (Shiran Kedar) have moved with their children for a one-year relocation in Thailand.

"The day I met Shiranka, I told her that my dream is a year-long trip around the world," Miller said in an Instagram story, sharing footage of the couple's new address: a seaside villa on Koh Phangan, Thailand.

"I didn't have a trip after the army, and from the age of 21 I was in the restaurant business, then came children, then the pandemic, and there was never a 'right time'. Shiranka wanted to fulfill a dream and find an educational framework for the children. She didn't find one. We decided on homeschooling and said this is the right time," he explained.

Miller shared videos of the new home, which includes a wide yard with a natural view and a private pool. "I wanted to lower the huge stress that developed in the last four months and finally lay my body in the new home," added the 46-year-old chef. The decision was made at the end of April while they were in Koh Samui, after realizing they could not find suitable schooling options.

Responding to a follower who asked if they were "ruining" their children, Miller replied:

"This is a question that makes me very sad. Do you truly and honestly believe that only a teacher in school can teach reading and writing? And do you truly believe that first grade will teach them more than a trip around the world?"

He noted that the children already know how to read and write, are practicing their basics, and he hopes they will learn English by the end of the year. In a final update, Miller promised: "We will return for the elections. Unequivocally."
