Noa Kirel has released a new song and music video titled "Love Song"—though for a love song, it is remarkably bloody. The Israeli pop star issued a warning at the start of the video, stating it is intended only for viewers aged 18 and up due to scenes of violence, blood, and graphic imagery that may not be suitable for younger audiences.
Directed by Adam Rider, the video presents what Kirel jokingly claims is the "true story" behind her honeymoon with her new husband, Daniel Peretz, in Japan. As fans recall, that trip ended abruptly when Kirel had to fly back to Israel for emergency surgery to remove her appendix due to severe inflammation.
The video is packed with references to Quentin Tarantino’s "Kill Bill" during its high-octane fight sequences, while also echoing the violent, stylized aesthetic of American pop star Sabrina Carpenter and the romantic obsession found in the horror film "Obsession." In the video, Kirel follows her partner to the restroom after suspecting he is cheating on her with a waitress at their restaurant, only to find herself caught in a bloody brawl that ends with her taking a hit that knocks out her appendix.
"Thiiis is what happened on the honeymoon in Japan!! Don't believe the rumors," Kirel wrote upon the video's release this morning. We remain skeptical, but it is certainly a creative way to imagine the events.
