"It was a complex process. I am so happy that I did not let the criticism lead me, because otherwise the decisions would not have been the same. It is possible that things would have led to a breakup. If I had not flown with him to Munich, it is not certain that I would be with him today. People told me: 'Don't fly, why are you pushing yourself?' I could have listened to them, but I don't know if we would be together. You shouldn't do what people say, but what you feel in your gut."

This revelation takes on additional meaning against the backdrop of their upcoming wedding. What looks like a natural path toward a life together today depended on a personal and brave decision she made in real time. Instead of allowing criticism to distance her, she acted according to her inner feelings.
