Netanyahu Targets Yaron Zelecha and Vows Major Economic Overhauls
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu criticized Yaron Zelecha during a media blitz, vowing to dismantle the agricultural lobby and prepare blockchain alternatives against potential sanctions.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu launched a direct political attack against economic expert and party leader Yaron Zelecha, accusing him of representing powerful labor unions and opposing major free-market reforms. During a media blitz, Netanyahu dismissed Zelecha's credentials, stating that he was merely an official who arrived after key reforms were already implemented and criticizing him for claiming undeserved credit.
Netanyahu asserted that Zelecha acts as a representative of the Histadrut labor federation and major corporate cartels, pointing to his past opposition to the cellular market reform and efforts to extract natural gas from Mediterranean waters. According to the prime minister, Zelecha stands against structural changes rather than championing them.
Expanding his critique of economic power centers, Netanyahu took aim at the agricultural lobby and the Israel Land Authority. When questioned on agricultural protections, the prime minister declared his intention to dismantle the agricultural lobby entirely. Regarding the Israel Land Authority, Netanyahu labeled it a major monopoly and indicated that further steps would be taken to release public lands.
In the same interview, Netanyahu addressed potential international economic sanctions against Israel, revealing that he has ordered preparations for alternative financial systems. Confirming that digital currencies and blockchain technology are being evaluated as a fallback against banking sanctions, Netanyahu emphasized the need to organize an independent economic workaround to protect the country's financial stability.
