Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu appeared on Wednesday on the "Seven" program hosted by Ayala Hasson on Kan 11, just days before the elections to the 26th Knesset. At the beginning of the interview, the Prime Minister addressed Hasson and clarified that he is deeply concerned about the future of the state following political changes and new candidates gaining public support.

Concerns Over the Polls and Right-Wing Voters

"I am very concerned. I am busy with other things, but right now I am concerned because right now there is a tie. I am trying to mobilize right-wing voters to vote for Likud," Netanyahu stated. During the interview, Netanyahu also addressed the affair surrounding the Egyptian intelligence chief's visit.

The Egyptian Intelligence Visit Affair

As recalled, in a previous interview on Channel 14, Netanyahu acknowledged that the Egyptian intelligence chief at the time, Abbas Kamel, landed in Israel on September 26, 2023, days before the October 7 surprise attack. The Egyptian senior official arrived for a brief 67-minute visit at Ben Gurion Airport. Ayala Hasson asked for his response to the affair shaking the country and asked if he knew who met with that official.

"An excellent question, I am asking the same question about who he met with. I asked the head of the Mossad and the Shin Bet. The problem is simple, you need to access the Ben Gurion Airport cameras, and that is not under state authority but under the authority of a private company. We will know, we will get to it. I did not meet with him. By the way, the Egyptians deny that they passed a warning. In the deep state it is difficult, but we will reach this truth," Netanyahu responded.

Sharp Criticism from Gadi Eisenkot

Gadi Eisenkot, leader of the "Yashar!" party, was quick to respond, attacking Netanyahu's remarks in an interview on Kan 11.

"Israeli citizens watched a prime minister today who is stressed, hysterical, and to my great regret also a liar who says things disconnected from reality. He does not know what is happening in his office, he does not control what happens there, today when he knows that the person closest to him received money from Qatar to conduct an awareness and terror campaign against Israeli citizens," Eisenkot said.
