Netanyahu Pushes for Major Military Strikes Against Iran, Report Says
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reportedly ordered the IDF to prepare for major strikes against Iran, though US President Donald Trump opposes a renewed war before midterms.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is pushing to resume extensive military strikes against Iran, having ordered the IDF to prepare for a significant offensive targeting civilian infrastructure, nuclear facilities, and regime sites in Tehran, according to a Financial Times report published Wednesday.
IDF Prepares Multi-Day Campaign
According to the report, the IDF prepared a multi-day bombing campaign originally slated to launch on the weekend of October 10. The target bank included power plants, nuclear facilities, and critical infrastructure utilized by the Iranian regime.
Sources indicated that the planned strike's intensity was meant to exceed the joint US-Israeli operation from last February. However, the plan was shelved primarily due to US President Donald Trump's opposition to resuming warfare ahead of the US midterm elections scheduled for November 3.
Pressure on Iran Over Nuclear Program
An insider noted that renewed strikes remain a distinct possibility in the coming weeks. "Either there will be an agreement, or there will be an attack," the source stated, explaining that the US objective is to compel Iran into signing an accord regarding the Strait of Hormuz and its nuclear program.

US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth visited Israel on Monday, meeting with Netanyahu and other top officials. During these talks, Israeli representatives presented an updated target list incorporating fresh intelligence on civilian infrastructure spared during previous rounds. Meanwhile, the IDF canceled soldier leaves ahead of the October 27 Knesset elections to ensure security.
