National Insurance Announces Holiday Payment Schedule Adjustments for September

September has arrived, and the National Insurance Institute of Israel is preparing for benefit distributions, which will see several changes for millions of eligible citizens due to the upcoming holidays. Ice explains which grants and allowances are expected to hit accounts in September, the adjusted payment schedules, reporting deadlines, and the rise in average payments.
Ahead of Rosh Hashanah 5787, the National Insurance Institute advanced the payment date for unemployment benefits and income support for September. The payment date was significantly brought forward and disbursed on September 8, 2026, just ahead of the holiday.
Additionally, ahead of Sukkot 5787, long-term allowances will be advanced to September 22, 2026. The allowances whose payment date is advanced include old-age pensions, survivor benefits, work injury compensation, alimony, disability benefits, mobility allowances, nursing care, and prisoners of Zion support.
Meanwhile, the deadline for reporting and paying insurance contributions for the self-employed and employers falls tomorrow, Tuesday, September 15. Child allowances are scheduled to be deposited into eligible accounts on September 20, the eve of Yom Kippur.
As known, the average benefits paid have surged since the beginning of 2026 due to an increase of up to 2.64% in the Consumer Price Index. The average benefit amount across all types of allowances following the recent update stands at approximately 5,280 shekels.
